Lesson Title: Montezuma's Revenge and Other Myths of the Spanish Conquest of the Aztecs

GOALS: Students investigate and answer the question How did Cortez conquer the Aztecs?
Content Standards: SS6H1 The student will describe the impact of European contact on Latin America.

ACTION
Before-Class Preparation
Students will collaborate with group members to synthesis the material they researched from the prior week.
During Class
Time Instructional Activities Materials and Resources
Classes meet for a 90 minute block of time three a week.
On Monday and Wednesday of the second week, the students will work on their assignments and begin preparing for their end of the unit performance tasks.
On Friday, students will present their storyboards for the performance tasks and will present a preliminary viewing.

Be organized into four groups...weapons, tactical, undercover infiltration, and home field advantages
Design a graphic organizer to compare military tactics
Be provided scenarios in which they will devise offensive and defensive action based on their groups
The web 2.0 tools used to help the students will include
Notes Students will be participate in a mock press conference de-briefing to discuss their plans. Each groups will submit a list of questions they will ask.
